Matthew Pettifer

Matthew Pettifer

Cambridge graduate Matthew trained at Staffords where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2001.

In 2003 Matthew distinguished himself not only by qualifying as a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, but also by winning top prize in their examinations.

He has worked extensively with a wide range of business and private clients. Matthew has particular expertise in professional partnerships, as well as the manufacturing, media and venture capital sectors.

Steve Ellis

Steve Ellis

Oxford graduate Steve trained at Staffords, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 2000.

As head of our technology division, Steve is highly experienced in the IT and biotechnology sectors. He has in-depth expertise in grant funding and applications, for instance from EEDA, the EC for Framework 6 and 7 grant funding and the UK R&D tax credits system.

Steve is also an expert in the design of computerised accounting systems based on popular packages including, Xero accountants Sage and QuickBooks.

Technical Team

Duncan Cawston

Duncan Cawston

Duncan has recently joined the firm after graduating with a first class honours degree in mathematics from Durham University.

He will be embarking on his Student training contract and starting to get to grips with the world of accountancy.

Kay Heginbotham

Kay Heginbotham

Kay has a degree in engineering science from Oxford. She joined the firm in 2001 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2004.

Kay has gained broad experience in all areas of the practice, particularly within the technology and business services sectors.

Lindsey Wallis

Lindsey Wallis

After graduating in chemistry from Cambridge, Lindsey joined us in 1997. Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2000, she is now a senior manager.

Lindsey has worked across all of the areas of the practice to gain as wide an experience as possible. She currently manages a large client portfolio with particular responsibility for private clients and not-for-profit organisations.

Vicki Rowen

With a degree in mathematics and computer science from Cambridge, Vicki completed her training with us and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in December 2007.

Vicki is building her portfolio with a range of clients across all areas of the practice.

The Support Team

Angela Martin

Angela Martin

Practice secretary Angela is also Julian Stafford’s personal assistant.

Angela has been an integral part of the practice team since 1990. With first-class organisational skills, Angela also heads the administration team.

Anna Benstead

Anna Benstead

Anna manages our payroll facility. Prior to joining Staffords, Anna worked in various payroll bureaux across Cambridge. With a great deal of experience in this area, Anna ensures that all operations in the department run smoothly.

Christa Bears

Christa Bears

Practice administrator and secretary Christa has a range of responsibilities.

She is mainly responsible for managing credit control and the practice accounts, while assisting with PR and marketing of the practice.

Shallah Davies

As our receptionist, it is Shallah that will be on hand to offer a warm welcome and a hot cup of tea!

She is also responsible for a wide range of administrative duties.
